Pair your Android phone
with a Windows PC.
Complete these four stages in order. Keep the Windows application open until your phone confirms the connection.
Step 1
Connect your Windows account
Open Smart Unlock on Windows. Select the Windows user you intend to control and complete the account setup requested by the application.
- Choose the correct Windows profile.
- Do not share account credentials with support.
- Continue only on a PC you own or administer.
Step 2
Choose the unlock experience
Select the unlock mode presented by your installed Windows application. Use the option that matches how you intend to authorize access.

Designed for the nearby trusted-device experience when supported by the installed build.
ManualYou approve an unlock request rather than allowing it automatically.
Legacy PairingIntended for special or existing network setups shown by the application.
Step 3
Choose how devices connect
Select a connection method that is actually available in your installed Smart Unlock build and appropriate for your network.
A method appearing in a setup screen does not guarantee it is enabled in every release. Use the option recommended by the current application.
Step 4
Scan the QR code
- Leave the QR code visible on your Windows PC.
- Open Smart Unlock on Android.
- Choose Pair a PC, then Start scanning.
- Allow camera access when Android asks.
- Point the camera at the entire QR code.
- If scanning fails, enter the displayed pairing code manually.
Treat a live pairing code like a temporary key. Do not post or send it publicly.
Setup complete
Your PC should now appear on the Android dashboard.
Confirm the computer name and connected status before sending a lock or unlock command.
Problem solving
Choose what is going wrong.
Open the issue closest to what you see and follow the checks in order.
QRMy phone cannot scan the QR code
- Clean the phone camera and increase the PC display brightness.
- Keep the full QR code inside the scanner frame.
- Move the phone slightly farther away so the camera can focus.
- Confirm Android camera permission is enabled for Smart Unlock.
- Regenerate or reopen the pairing screen if the code has expired.
- Use the manual pairing code if scanning remains unavailable.
PCThe computer does not appear after pairing
- Confirm the Windows app reached the pairing screen and remained open.
- Verify the Android app reported a successful connection.
- Return to the Android dashboard and allow several seconds for refresh.
- Restart both applications if the dashboard remains empty.
- Pair again using a newly displayed QR or pairing code.
●The PC shows offline or disconnected
- Make sure the Windows PC is switched on and connected to a network.
- Open the Smart Unlock Windows application.
- Confirm Windows Firewall or security software is not blocking it.
- Check that Android has a working connection and is not restricted by battery-saving controls.
- Restart the applications and recheck the device state.
↗Lock or unlock stays in progress
- Do not send the same command repeatedly; allow the current request to finish.
- Confirm the PC still shows Connected.
- Verify the configured Windows user still exists and can sign in normally.
- Try Test Unlock from Windows where available.
- Record the action, PC name, approximate time, and any visible message before contacting support.
!I removed or lost my trusted phone
Use the available paired-device controls to remove the old relationship as soon as possible. Keep the Windows PC protected with its normal sign-in method. Pair a replacement phone only after confirming you control the Windows computer.
×I need to remove a PC
Open the PC details or removal option in the Android application, confirm the computer name, and approve removal. The PC will no longer appear as a trusted computer for that account.
Feature reference
Know what each control does.
Starts the trusted-device enrollment flow using the QR or manual pairing code shown by Windows.
Indicates that the application currently recognizes an available relationship with that PC.
Sends a request to lock the selected Windows computer.
Starts the configured unlock request for the selected trusted computer.
